A front-of-house job rather than a back garden one. The original driveway and walkway had reached the end of their life, so both were taken up and rebuilt.
The new walkway runs to the front door in a cleaner line than the one it replaced, and the driveway was relaid to match. The house was repainted at the same time, so the whole frontage changed together instead of the new paving showing up the old paintwork.
The before and after are worth looking at side by side. Nothing about the footprint of the house changed.
